Ida's Opera Illustrations

Ida has been obsessing on operas lately- namely, the Nutcracker and Mozart's Magic Flute. She has been answering exclusively to "Clara". She is also drawing as zealously and quirkily as ever. So, of her own initiative, she has begun to illustrate the operas. Some images are portraits, others full figure. She is very sure of what she is depicting, and I when I showed her them on the computer, she recognized all the subjects. Enjoy!

Laying Plans

Below are sketches Mom, Dad and I made for an urban compound one night at the rural compound. I lost my drawings (though some of dad's reflect some of the ideas I was thinking about). I also redrew my concept (last drawing).

Doodle Report

These doodles made it to the present from the past somehow. Now I'm shipping them to the future here on the ol' Rhinocerous. Enjoy!

Obvious Political Cartoon #1

This is first of a few drawings I made that try to evoke the obvious early political cartoons of the Thomas Nast era in which everything is labeled and people often wear banners and sashes the simply state what they are supposed to represent. I thought it was sort of amusing to make such a pointless drawing as this one.
