Watercolor: Flower

  1. I have a pastel daffodil that you made for me when I was a little kid and I was sick. On the back it says, "get well soon, my little flower. I have it on the wall behind my desk, which I am facing very often. Also, when you commissioned me to paint something for you, it was daffodils. So to me, this is the quintessential dad subject, especially when it comes to dad-and-conor.

  2. Wow, cogoo, that was a good story, even better than the daffodil. That said, the daffodil is good, dad, you would definitely be a daffodil if you were a flower.

  3. Nice! Before I read the above comments, I was formulating a comment along the lines of "How Dad." There's something intangible communicated in your pen lines here that is common to all of your drawings. A kind of humorous bedtime-story toe/foot related energy that gives penguins pearly chompers. The flower doesn't look still and peaceful and delicate but more like it's sucking air into it's mouth like a vacuum cleaner. Ink+ watercolor is a good mode for you.
