Chess Boy: Capablanca’s Golden Bishop, Part 8
Created digitally, kind of a different look. I think I like analog better for Chess Boy, but doing stuff in color on digital is pretty sweet, stay tuned...
Like I said last time I commented, and the computer obliterated it - Chess boy has a (living) MOM!!!!!!! The stay at home dad seems like a rich character already, and, like Carlos, a unique character in the comic world at large. Considering how hard it is for the "pro's" these days to come up with the faintest semblance of a character who is either unique or rich, let alone both, this is triumphant!
I agree analog is better, but results here surprisingly acceptable for CG. Chess Boy Graphics are still developing sicely
This series is a triumph. My curiosity about the gold chess piece grows with each frame and the walk through a day in the life of Chess Boy reveals new information with each installment. Great drawing consistency. The more you draw chess boy, the more confident you appear to be. I am reminded of the way Calvin & Hobbes and Peanuts characters took a while before they became iconic. Nice work.

DeleteI like panel 6 -- the silhouette -- best in the CG.
