Chess Boy: Capablanca's Golden Bishop, Part 7

  1. Something's up with this town - Casablanca's golden bishop in the thrift store... a photo of Casablanca, WITH the golden bishop, stuck in a book in the public library... its as though chess boy's strange obsession with chess is summoning forth a chess reality all around him. In that way, this is realistic - obsessions do tend to make this kind of thing happen, or so it seems.............

  2. Again, really reminding me of my recent research experience at the public library. When something is hard to figure out even tiny scraps of information seem satisfying. I think this is why humor in another language seems so funny. You're proud of yourself just for understanding that a joke is being made. The difficulty makes it satisfying. Meanwhile - when everything is easy to find (online) no amount of information feels satisfying.
