I dig this- I like how the box says 'dang'.
Even though nothing happens, and there's nothing really going on visually with the boxes to indicate liveliness, they feel like alive characters. Good job.
I think the boxes look great. They come alive and we get a sense of their personality without losing their box-ness. They make me wonder what
